Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This policy explains how bizinsider.co and its language editions (the "Site") handle information when you visit. The Site is a reading mirror of the BizInsider newsletter on Substack. It has no accounts, comments, forms or payments.

Substack operates the newsletter, subscriptions and payments. When you leave the Site to subscribe or manage a subscription, Substack's privacy policy applies.

2. Information We Handle

We do not ask you to provide personal information to read the Site. We handle:

• Server logs: IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, referring URL, timestamps and errors, created automatically when you visit
• Search queries: the text you type in the Site search, used to return results
• Preferences stored on your device: language, light or dark theme, reading settings and podcast playback position

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we do not run advertising or behavioral tracking on the Site.

3. How We Use Information

• Deliver and secure the Site, and prevent abuse
• Diagnose errors and keep the Site performing well
• Remember your language, theme and reading choices
• Return search results and resume podcast playback

We do not sell personal information and do not use it to profile you.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

The Site uses a small number of first-party cookies and browser storage that are needed for its features:

• lang cookie: remembers your language for up to one year
• theme cookie: remembers light or dark mode
• Local storage: reading settings and podcast progress, kept only in your browser

These are not used to track you across sites. You can delete them in your browser settings. The Site still works, but your choices will not be remembered.

5. Service Providers

We rely on providers to run the Site. They process data only to provide their service:

• Hosting and infrastructure, which receive request data such as IP address
• Database and caching services, which store article content and cached responses, not visitor profiles
• Google Fonts, which serves typefaces and receives your IP address and browser details when fonts load

6. Third-Party Content and Links

Some articles embed content such as YouTube or Vimeo videos, and the Site links to Substack, LinkedIn, Facebook and other sites. When you load embedded content or follow a link, that third party may collect your IP address, device data and interactions, and may set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy. We do not control them.

7. Sharing

We share information only with the providers above, when required by law or to protect rights and security, or in a business transfer of the Site. We do not sell or rent personal information.

8. Retention

Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security, diagnostics and legal obligations, then deleted or anonymized. Preferences stored on your device stay until you clear them.

9. Security and International Processing

We use reasonable technical measures, including encrypted connections, to protect information. No system is fully secure. Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States.

10. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to processing, and to complain to a data protection authority. Because we hold little identifiable information, we may not be able to link a request to you, and may ask you to help us verify it.

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
